- Request for proposals are invited for Providing Support to People Living with HIV/Aids in Al Minya Governorate to Access Available Social Protection Services. Proposals may be submitted on or before Tuesday, May 17, 2022 This Request for Proposals (RFP) intends to contribute to the national efforts for fast-tracking HIV response, through supporting people living with HIV to access and benefit from the available social protection programs to address the structural causes of deprivation and vulnerability that were significantly worsen by the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. It was evident that blatant stigma and discriminatory practices against PLHIV constitute a major barrier that impede the said populations to enroll in the social protection programs. UNDP Country Office will contract a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that has the technical and financial capacities to operate in Al Minya Governorate and deliver the followings: 1. Organize awareness-raising sessions for People living with HIV in the respective Governorate: This activity will entail organizing six (6) awareness sessions during the course of implementation. Each session will include approximately 15 individuals among people living with HIV and will cover themes varies from available ‘conditional- social protection including economic and social assistance and services that would help addressing the multiple needs of people living with HIV/AIDS and their families. The awareness session will provide comprehensive package of information on processes, conditions and requirements for different available social protection programs/schemes in the country as well as determine steps through which people living with HIV can access the available programs. 2. Legal Services for the Enrollment in Social Protection: The intention is to provide legal counseling and support for about 50 individuals among people living with HIV to be enrolled in relevant social protection programs to access cash-transfer programs by the Ministry of Social solidarity to address the structural roots of vulnerability and precarity of people living with HIV/AIDS.
