- Expression of Interest are invited for Contractor to Support the Implementation of a Pilot Supplier Development Program (SDP) in Egypt. Qualification Criteria · 1. Provide Information Showing that They are Qualified in the Field of the Assignment. · 2. Provide Information on the Technical and Managerial Capabilities of the Firm. · 3. Provide Information on Their Core Business and Years in Business. · 4. Provide Information on the Qualifications of Key Staff. The IFC in close collaboration with private sector partners and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI) in Egypt is planning a new initiative aimed at expanding the integration of local firms in the domestic and regional Technical Textiles (TT) value chain. Expanding local firm participation in Egypt's nascent TT sector is hampered by weak local firm operational performance, management skills and capacity for upgrading. Conventional textiles firms and relevant other local firms often lack the managerial capabilities to move into higher value-added TT product markets, meet strict international product and export standards or improve export competitiveness to serve international markets or become suppliers to large TT manufacturers and exporters already based in Egypt. This project will seek to address this issue by designing and implementing an 24 months pilot Supplier Development Program (SDP) starting in September 2021. A key part of the pilot SDP implementation process will be the carrying out of comprehensive business reviews of the current performance of participating local suppliers. These baseline assessments against international standards for competitiveness will form the basis for identifying priorities for improvement of the participating local companies and agree on individually tailored action plans and hands-on training and coaching. The pilot initiative intends to deliver a proof of concept and foster knowledge exchanges with the Ministry, local agencies and consultants on running similar SDP initiatives going forward. In this respect the IFC is seeking the services of a firm or consortia of consultants with extensive experience of implementing targeted SDPs and delivering such business assessments and management training and coaching services. The sector in focus for this assignment is Technical Textiles (inc. MedTech, ProTech, etc). Consultants having a strong track record of relevant experience and expertise are encouraged to submit an EOI for the above-mentioned task, including a first indication of the methodology they plan to use for conducting company assessments.
